FAQ’s
Question : Do I have a right to know what’s in my credit report?
Answer : Yes, you have the right to know what’s in your report, but you have to formally request the information. The consumer reporting agency must tell you everything in your report, and give you a list of everyone who has requested your eport within the past year — or the past two years if the requests were related to employment.
Question : Does paying off collection accounts improve my credit score?
Answer : As crazy as it may sound, paying a collection account can actually reduce your credit score. Here’s why: some credit scoring software reviews credit reports for each account’s date of last activity to determine the impact it will have on the overall credit score. When payment is made on a collection account, collection agencies sometimes update the credit reporting agencies to reflect the account status as “Paid”. When this happens, the date of last activity becomes more recent. Since the guideline for credit scoring software is the date of last activity, recent payment on a collection account damages the credit score more severely.
Question : In addition to credit repair, do you also help me rebuild my credit report?
Answer : Yes! We believe that repairing your credit is only one of the steps towards winning financial freedom. We also guide you through various solutions which can also have a positive impact on one’s credit score.
Question : Why are my three credit scores different from one another?
Answer : There are three primary credit bureaus. They are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Each of the three bureaus uses the same basic FICO scoring model although each of the bureaus has re-branded the score name for their own marketing. There can be differences in your scores for a number of reasons but the two most common are; not all creditors report to all three bureaus, and, the timing of the inclusion of information by each bureau is different. If you used a credit card recently the new balance is likely to be reported by each bureau at different times.
